NATIONAL GARDEN WEEK

National Garden Week is observed in June.  Each year, The Garden Club of Downers Grove presents a program at the Downers Grove Public Library, co-sponsored by the Library, with a guest speaker and garden-related theme. This year's presentation is:

Reducing Climate Change

Through Composting

Presenter:

Rolfe Jaremus

June 9, 2026   7pm
at the Downers Grove Public Library

1050 Curtiss St, Downers Grove, IL 60515

Discover how you can make a positive environmental impact simply by managing your household waste more responsibly.

This free presentation is open to the public and will explore how composting not only reduces landfill contributions but also helps combat climate change—while creating a rich, natural fertilizer for your garden.

Members, Dave & Debbie W. of the Garden Club of Downers Grove accept the 2025 National Garden Week proclamation from Mayor Barnett.
